Special correspondent to the Novato Advance, in his review of The Sound of Music, where Daria played the Mother Abbess, wrote:
When Bauer’s turn comes, her enthusiasm for these “favorite things” bursts out across the theater in a great flood of joy, easily selling the audience. It’s a great moment in the production, and a good lesson from a seasoned veteran.
Monica Norcia
Music director of Novato Theater Company’s “Man of La Mancha”, wherein Daria was cast as Antonia, as well as their production of “The Sound of Music”, featuring Daria as the Mother Abbess, wrote:
Daria has a strong and beautiful mezzo-soprano voice, which she uses skillfully and expressively. She is a competent musician, reads music well and her ear allows her to learn quickly. She is always theatrically effective in whatever role she takes on, whether it be a lead or in ensemble.
Gloria Wood
musical director of the Ross Valley Players’ production of “Once Upon a Mattress”, wrote: I first saw Daria Bauer in a production of “The Most Happy Fella” for the Novato Theatre Co.
She was playing the role of Tony’s sister, and she seemed very solid vocally and in her character interpretation. She was part of the ensemble when I acted as Musical Director for “Once Upon a Mattress” for the Ross Valley Players and she was again solid on stage; both vocally and dramatically. When I sang the role of Mrs. Peachum in a recent production of “Three Penny Opera” at the College of Marin, Daria was again in the ensemble and she enthusiastically threw herself into her time on stage.
